November 2007
Opening November 3 with an artist's reception from
5-8pm, Museo will offer a show of new works by painter Marianne Brabanski
and clay sculptor Al Tennant.
Marianne
Brabanski is a painter of exuberant, colorful canvases. She manages
with great deftness to perfectly capture the most magnificent still life and
figurative images. Her style is loose and fluid which gives the work a
joyful kinetic quality. Impressions of her lovely Island garden inspire much
of this new work. Her paintings deliver a contemporary vision while honoring
the painterly process.

Al
Tennant, a master clay artist recently honored by the Anchorage
Historical & Fine Arts Museum, is on the short list of "who's who of wood
fired pottery". His work is large, bold and wonderfully textural. His
sculptures possess a great sense of energy and strength. Many of the works
can be displayed outdoors where the Pacific Northwest light and weather only
add to their primal drama.
