July 2007
For the month of July, Museo will feature the
10th Annual Glass Invitational and paintings by Michel Tsouris.
The
Glass Invitational has become a very highly
regarded and anticipated annual event at Museo, with collectors joining
us from all over the world. They come to see what is new and
innovative in the world of art glass. This may be a small island,
but it has earned a big reputation in the world of glass.
Luminaries in the contemporary glass movement live and work right here
on Whidbey Island, and each year we celebrate our community of talented
artists with a show dedicated to this fascinating and enduring medium.

July
also Brings us new work by local painter
Michel Tsouris.
She works in several disciplines including encaustic, pastel, print, oils
and mixed media. Her work is haunting and visceral, disparate images
being bound together by a dreamlike thread of familiarity. Surfaces
are rich with texture, and her color sense is rooted in the earthy pigments
of nature. These dramatic and sophisticated paintings are potent
visual reminders of our dreams and fantasies.
